Joni Mitchell

I am surrounded by all of Joni's music once again. I had tapes and CDs for many of these albums but they all got lost along the way. I repurchased about 6 albums on the Amazon cloud. But now I see that virtually her entire catalogue has joined the YouTube pantheon. Joni is and always will be my favorite artist of all. She gives a voice to what I'm feeling. She helped me find myself as a young adult, and beyond. In the midst of pain, she shows me the beauty. Joni's music is love, pain, beauty, yearning, confessions, anguish, leaving, American culture, and intellect all at once. She sits with me in my loneliness. She sees the voices inside me and coaxes them out..will not allow me to leave my own stories untold. With her, I celebrate and fulfill all that I am. Tony Varela Photography via Flickr

Good Alternative Music Playlist

Made another playlist today - this time celebrating all my favorite alternative music from the past and present.  I think the '90s especially was the renaissance for alternative.  The above link for "Somewhere Only We Know" (one of my favorites) doesn't actually take you to the playlist.  Click here for the Good Alternative Music Playlist which is also public on Endless Summer Creations' YouTube profile.

Playlist of Some Of My Favorite Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap Tunes

I'm not sure if this will link you to my actual playlist itself, but my playlist is entitled Good R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap (click here!) and is public on Endless Summer Creations' profile 😀💓  Great music to create to 😉

IT NEVER ENDS

I am so furious at that part of this country that shrugs off these constant massacres, that just digs in its heels even deeper and says "They're not takin' my guns!", that says the 2nd Amendment is absolute, that lets each one of these slaughters be an infomercial to go BUY, BUY, BUY!  The "weapons of mass destruction" were not in Iraq.  They're right here in America.  And they are out to get us.  It could be any one of us next time.  You, me, our sons, our daughters, our moms, dads, too many loved ones to count.  Just like Abel's blood, the blood of all of these victims is screaming out from the ground.  The little ones of Sandy Hook whose Christmas ornaments were still drying on the windowsills, Virginia Tech, The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO, the Charleston, SC church, Pulse in Orlando, FL, Las Vegas, and how many more?  Their blood cries out to deaf ears. Instead it's just "I'm sorry for your loss," "My thoughts and ...
The beginning of Carl's Sonic Mania Diorama, depicting the Studiopolis World!  An idea that completely happened by chance.  I was down at the Goodwill when I saw two old fish tanks for $10 each.  One of them I'm using for a Christmas Diorama.  But the other one gets this cool life! Color pictures printed from the web Beginning of base with yellow and blue Legos "Kragled" into place 😀 Decorations from a Lego Friends set and pearly pebbles hot-glued into place as well ...and more to come!

Day 42 - Beck Diet Solution, Practice, Practice, Practice

Some people say that “practice makes perfect.”   That may be true with some things, like practicing a musical piece until it can be played perfectly.   But in weight loss we’re not aiming for perfection, because everybody slips up sometimes and that’s normal and human.   Maybe the better saying for BDS is “practice makes automatic.”   That’s what we’re really aiming for – to think like thin people, and to do it automatically. In the Army once, when we were in the middle of a 12-mile road march, everybody was starving and we were standing in the pouring rain, one of the drill sergeants encouraged us “This can only last so long.”   True with everything, isn’t it?   You’ll hit rough patches in your weight loss journey, where you’ll question all your accomplishments and whether it’s worth it to continue.   Suck it up and drive on.   Everything is temporary and this transient wave of difficulty will soon wash away. Keep reviewing and pra...
